About This Event

This presentation explores male mental and sexual health, focusing on vulnerability, anxiety, and self-reliance, and examines societal expectations and stigma within the context of sexual well-being. It introduces a biopsychosocial assessment framework and practical techniques like communication strategies and erotic mindfulness for harm reduction and fostering connections related to sexual health. The course emphasizes compassion, empathy, and accountability, offering valuable insights and interventions for therapists seeking to improve men's sexual health and overall well-being.

Education Goals/Learning Objectives

By the end of this presentation participants will:

  1. List six categories treated within sex therapy.
  2. Identify three mental health patterns observed in men, such as isolation, anxiety, and self-sabotage, and understand their implications on male sexual health.
  3. Outline three components of the biopsychosocial assessment framework and describe how each component influences men's mental health and well-being.
  4. Describe three interventions for men’s sexual health.

Presenter

David F Khalili, LMFT is a licensed marriage and family therapist, board-certified sexologist, and founder of Rouse Relational Wellness, a couples and sex therapy practice throughout California, and authored Mental Health Workbook for Men and Sex Worriers: A Mindfully Queer Guide for Men’s Anxiety to Sex and Dating. Specializing in couples and sex therapy, David draws from his diverse background, including peer sex education, adult boutiques, and a Master's degree in Sexuality Studies from San Francisco State University. This is an introductory, intermediate, and advanced level course. This program will benefit LMFT, LPCC, LEP and LCSW licensees and pre-licensees.

This course meets the qualifications for 1.5 hours of continuing education law and ethics credit for LMFTs, LCSWs, LPCCs, and/or LEPs as required by the California Board of Behavioral Sciences.

CE credit will be awarded after completion of this course and a course evaluation, sent via email.

The San Gabriel Valley Chapter of the California Association of Marriage and Family Therapists (SGV-CAMFT), provider #60957, is approved by CAMFT to sponsor continuing education for LMFTs, LCSWs, LPCCs, and LEPs. SGV-CAMFT maintains the responsibility for the program and all its content.
