PASADENA COLLABORATIVE DIVORCE (PCD) offers this FREE PUBLIC SERVICE to empower couples to make well-informed and effective long-term decisions.

  • Options offered help preserve respect and money.
  • Attendees learn to understand and manage the legal, financial, and emotional aspects of divorce.
  • Topics include: the different divorce options, the pros and cons and relative costs of each, divorce-related terms, and which approach may provide desired outcomes under different financial or interpersonal circumstances.

Ani Garikian, J.D. Ms. Garikian is a Certified Family Law Specialist whose practice has been devoted exclusively to Family Law, concentrating in complex family law matters, litigating high asset, high profile cases, for the past twenty two years. Ms. Garikian's practice has been focused on complex custody litigation, high income support issues, as well as issues related to complex business and unique asset valuation. She is currently in private practice in Glendale, serving her clients through litigation, mediation and collaborative practice.

Ms. Garikian is a member of the Executive Committee of the Family Law section of the Beverly Hills Bar Association, the Family Law section of the Los Angeles County Bar Association, and the Armenian Bar Association. She serves on the Board of the Glendale YWCA and supports a variety of cultural and charitable organizations, including several providing assistance and shelter to victims of domestic violence in the community. Ms. Garikian serves as a volunteer mediator and in the Domestic Violence Project of the Los Angeles Superior Court, Family Law.

Mary Ann Aronsohn, LMFT, has over 30 years of experience in working with people on the substantive aspects of their lives. She has worked in a variety of settings, participates in ongoing training, and has published articles in various professional publications. She is a speaker on several topics as well. Because of the insight gained from her experience, Mary Ann has been able to guide hundreds to a richer, more satisfying direction in life. Ms. Aronsohn earned a Bachelor's Degree Cum Laude from Westmont College in 1978, and a Master's Degree in Educational Psychology from California State University at Northridge in 1985.

Charlotte K Reith, CPA, is a principal of The Reith Company, a provider of forensic accounting and consulting services since 2000. Ms. Reith provides consulting services to attorneys and businesses. Areas of concentration include litigation support, family law, insurance defense, business valuations, expert witness, financial elder abuse, fraud investigations, internal controls and corporate governance. With over 25 years of progressive responsibilities in corporate finance and management positions, she has served as Vice President, Financial Systems; Vice President, Planning, Finance and Administration and Divisional Controller. Ms. Reith holds a B.S. Business Administration, Accounting Option Degree from California State University, Hayward, California (1982), and performed undergraduate studies at California State University, Northridge from 1978 to 1981.

Ria Severance, LMFT Ria Severance  is a collaborative divorce coach, child specialist and co-mediator. In private practice since 1986, she skillfully helps clients envision win-win solutions in challenging circumstances. Using research-based strategies in a warm and nonjudgmental way, Ms. Severance redirects interactions and helps dial down emotions, in a process that helps couples reach an honorable close to their marriage or partnership. Drawing from her experience working with thousands of children and parents, Ms. Severance empowers parents to develop a co-parenting alliance that puts the best interests of the child first, serves the needs of all family members, and helps keep families out of court.
